Maldon: Crime falls by 11% in past year

Essex Police has reported a drop in crime in the Maldon district - 11% in the past 12 months.
The district already has some of the lowest levels of offending in Essex but crime figures have continued to decrease in the last year.
Vehicle theft (-29%), robbery (-28%) and burglary (-21%) have all seen considerable drops.
There have been just 230 incidents of anti-social behaviour recorded in that time – an average of just over four a week across the whole district.
Inspector Emily Holmes of Chelmsford and Maldon Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "The team work hard to prevent offending and get justice for victims so it's good to see our crime figures continuing to go in a positive direction.
"Maldon is a safe district, but no crime or anti-social behaviour is acceptable, which is why we are listening to the public and tackling the issues that matter most to them.
"Our officers will be out on patrol across the district, so if you have concerns where you live or work, tell them or contact us online and we'll do what we can to help."
The force adds that the recent launch of the new Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPTs) will see an increased emphasis on visibility and working with partners at a local level to problem solve and combat crime and anti-social behaviour.
