Essex Highways has confirmed part of Fambridge Road, Maldon, will be closed from Sunday (March 26) for eight days, as Swish Fibre carries out "utility asset" works.

The road will be temporarily closed from the junction at Spital Road to the junction at New Street. However, the pedestrian footway will remain open.

The permit for these works runs from March 26 at 8am until April 2 at 11pm.

A spokesperson for Essex Highways added: "During this time, access for residents that live within the closed area will be maintained but any traffic wishing to use this as a through route will be guided to follow the diversion route."

The diversion will take motorists via Fambridge Road, Limebrook Way, Limebrook roundabout, Wycke Hill, Spital Road roundabout, Spital Road. The reverse route applies.

A spokesperson for Swish Fibre has been approached for comment.
