After a short break the club returns in 2022 when the first two films to be screened are the Golden Globe-nominated Portrait of a Lady on Fire on Wednesday, 5 January followed by the Oscar award-winner and highly-acclaimed JoJo Rabbit on Wednesday, 19 January.

The club meets at Maldon Town Hall, doors open at around 7.30pm and films begin at 8pm prompt.

The programme for the 2021/22 season, which covers a wide variety of themes with films from different regions of the world, continues until 25 May 2022 and our films will be shown fortnightly on Wednesdays until the end of the season.

After Jo Jo Rabbit the remaining films to be screened are as follows:

  • 2 February: Honeyland (two Oscar nominations)
  • 16 February: Official Secrets
  • 2 March: Parasite (four Oscar awards)
  • 16 March: Sorry We Missed You (one BAFTA nomination)
  • 30 March: Sweet Country
  • 13 April: Knives Out (one Oscar nomination)
  • 27 April: Taste of Honey (one Golden Globe award)
  • 11 May: Pain and Glory (two Oscar nominations)
  • 25 May: To be confirmed

The membership fee from January to May is just £20 which entitles members to free admission to all films.

In addition, there are a limited number of places for junior members aged 16 to 18 in full-time education and training at the reduced cost of £18.

Membership is open to all and new members will be made very welcome. So why not join now and then enjoy the remaining 11 films for free!
