Maldon Fireworks Show returns to Promenade Park on Saturday, November 2.

The annual event, organised by the Rotary Club of Maldon, is one of the biggest of the Maldon event calendar.

The spectacular will attract 7,000 residents to the park, as well as hundreds more to nearby restaurants and pubs.

The award-winning display team Star Fireworks will present the display from 7.30pm.

A bonfire will be lit at 7.30pm, which will continue to roar into the evening.

Gates open for the event from 5.30pm with music from 6pm.

Chairman of the Organising Committee, Brian Farrington, told Nub News: ""We're committed to providing a memorable evening with spectacular fireworks from the company who orchestrates displays on the Thames in London at New Year, all synchronised to music.

"We thank the local community for continuing to support the event, enabling us to contribute to many local charities. Last year, thanks to the incredible support of attendees, we distributed over £25,000 to good causes.

"We're aiming for another record-breaking crowd this year, with glowsticks on sale, family-friendly fun, incredible stage entertainment and plenty of delicious food and drinks."

Special guest Irie J will be entertaining crowds into the night with some soul bangers, with other live music throughout the evening from Essex singer Evy Frearson and 11 year old Alfie.Rocks.Guitar.

BBC Essex's Matt Mackay is once again supporting the event, both in the lead-up and on the night itself, with Chairman Brian Farrington calling his involvement "crucial".

Performer Joel Hicks will also be putting on a jaw-dropping display of fire-breathing.

A number of local food and drink businesses will also be in the park, including mulled wine and hot toddies by Events Factor, Firepit Pizzas, The Spud Shack, Time for Thai, Burritos & Bowls, and more.
