Prezzo has confirmed that it permanently closed its Maldon branch this week.

The pizza restaurant, on 69 High Street, closed on Sunday, 1 August.

In February, Prezzo announced that 22 of its branches would shut for good this year - as part of a pre-pack deal by investment firm Cain International to rescue the pizza chain from administration.

Saffron Waldon was the only Essex branch included in the announcement, with Prezzo Maldon reopening on Monday, 12 April following the easing of restrictions.

But Prezzo Maldon confirmed today (Wednesday, 4 August) that it has now permanently closed.
