Maldon's Queen Victoria pub is to hold a Covid-secure Christmas Beer Festival featuring more than 45 real ales.

The event at the pub in Spital Road, Maldon, will take place from Saturday, 12 December to Sunday, 20 December and will run from noon to 10pm each day.

The event will be a 'County Championship' with Essex Beers versus Yorkshire Beers - as well as featuring some 'special guests' and craft beers and lagers.

The food menu will include a selection of filled Yorkshire puddings and German sausages as well as other dishes.

There will be both indoor seating for single household groups and outdoor heated seating for mixed groups of up to six people, in line with Tier Two rules.

Landlord James Burrell-Cook said: "We wanted to create something fun and enjoyable for customers this Christmas and real ales are always very popular.

"This will be a Covid-safe event and so reserving a place is highly recommended as there will be control over numbers."
