Sales Ledger Assistant at Ernest Doe, Ulting, Maldon

This family-owned firm is looking for an enthusiastic, keen and driven individual to join the existing finance team based at its Head Office in Maldon.

Reporting directly to the Sales Ledger Manager, you will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the department in an efficient, accurate and effective manner - while maintaining accurate communications between colleagues and customers to ensure the smooth running of accounts.

Immediate start, but subject to successful candidates' notice.

40 hours per week (8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday) - 1-hour unpaid lunch.

32 days' annual leave, company sick pay scheme, workplace pension, staff discount, and Death in Service cover.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Reconciliation and management of a designated section of sundry and export accounts
  • Chasing of outstanding Machinery Debt
  • Working within a high-volume Sales Ledger environment
  • Managing the production of the month and year end reports
  • Ability to obtain payment from customers with a firm and confident manner
  • Producing direct debit collections
  • Producing the month and year end reports with analysis

Skills Required:

  • Proven experience of working within a high-volume sales ledger environment
  • Ability to work within a team and individually
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Ability to communicate to different levels of the company
  • Strong computer skills involving Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Confident in answering incoming phone calls
  • A calm and confident manner to handle potentially uncomfortable conversations

Grass Machinery PDI Technician at Ernest Doe, Ulting, Maldon

Reporting directly to the Groundcare Sales Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of all equipment associated with Groundcare machinery that is sole by the company's sales department.

Immediate start, but subject to successful candidates' notice.

39 hours per week (8am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday). Overtime will be paid at time and a half. Saturdays as required, especially during seasonal peaks.

32 days' annual leave, company sick pay scheme, workplace pension, staff discount, and life insurance cover.

Skills Required:

  • A good understanding of grass machinery and how it works
  • The ability to diagnose faults and successfully carry out repairs
  • Lifting of heavy machinery, applying common sense to items that require the assistance of special tools
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers as required
  • Excellent people skills and enjoy working with the general public
  • Enjoy working in a busy atmosphere and can cope under pressure during busy periods
  • Able to work alone and on your own initiative
  • Maintain a good general level of health and fitness
  • Good general appearance
  • Excellent customer service skills as this is a customer facing role
  • Full driver's licence

Construction Service Technician at Ernest Doe, Ulting, Maldon

Reporting directly to the Construction Service Manager, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of all equipment associated with Construction machinery (but not limited to) that is sold by the company's sales department. You will be working with brands such as Hyundai, Twaites, Bomag and many more.

Working within Ernest Doe will give you direct access to the manufactures for support and training, as well as the benefit of working with experienced team members.

Immediate start, but subject to successful candidates' notice.

39 hours per week (8am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday; and 8am to 4pm on Friday). 1-hour unpaid lunch.

Overtime will be paid at time and a half on completion of 39 hours, Monday to Friday.

Sundays or Bank Holidays will be paid at double time.

32 days' annual leave, company sick pay scheme, workplace pension, staff discount, and Death in Service cover.

Skills Required:

  • Sound knowledge of or experience within the Construction or Agricultural industry (advantageous)
  • Ability to diagnose hydraulic and electrical faults using latest software and successfully carry out repairs which may be chargeable, warrantable or internal type jobs.
  • Lifting of heavy machinery, applying common sense to items that require the assistance of special tools
  • Has the ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Able to work under pressure and to customer demands, including long hours and weekend cover (rota based)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Competent in the use of computers
  • Maintain a good general level of health and fitness
  • Excellent customer service skills as this is a customer facing role
  • Full clean driver's licence
  • Be self-motivated

Professional Groundcare Technician at Ernest Doe, Ulting, Maldon

Reporting directly to the Horticultural Service Manager, you will be responsible for all customer and supplier interactions of the branch and supporting the Professional Area Groundcare Manager to allow them to strengthen and grow our already successful groundcare business.

39 hours per week (8am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday; and 8am to 4pm on Friday). 1-hour unpaid lunch.

Overtime will be paid at time and a half on completion of 39 hours, Monday to Friday.

32 days' annual leave, company sick pay scheme, workplace pension, staff discount, and Death in Service cover.

Skills Required:

  • Good, sound knowledge of ground care equipment or similar
  • Proven experience within the horticultural industry
  • Excellent customer service skills both face to face and over the telephone
  • Be self-motivated and able to work under own initiative
  • Clean and tidy general appearance
  • Has the ability to be influencing and persuading
  • Ability to diagnose hydraulic and electrical faults
  • Maintain a good general level of health and fitness
  • Excellent customer service skills as this is a customer facing role
  • Organised with attention to detail
  • Current trailer license would be advantageous
  • Full clean driver's licence
