Maldon Twinning Association members meet again post-lockdown - and seek more members to join their 'happy throng'

After a much delayed start due to the weather and having to reschedule, eighteen members of the Maldon Twinning Association - including the town mayor Councillor David Ogg and his wife the mayoress - enjoyed a picnic in the garden of one of the committee members.

It was such a welcome day to meet friends and catch up with how everyone has been coping in the last eighteen months during the lockdown from Covid.

A raffle took place and, due to the generosity of those who attended, everyone was able to go home with a prize.

During lockdown, you get to understand how important it is to have friends who believe in Maldon Twinning and with this in mind, it would be lovely to have more people to join our association.

Events are held during the year - usually Barbeque, Bangers and Bake and

Dining Around the World - at various venues in Maldon.

Our hope is that we will be able to travel to Cuijk next year after a most successful and enjoyable 50th anniversary celebration held in Maldon in 2019.

These visits are much enjoyed by the members and hosts, and I don't think you would be disappointed.

If you would be interested in joining our happy throng please get in touch with membership secretary Linda Anthony either by phone 01621 855035 or email [email protected].
