Families can now try out Maldon Promenade Park's new garden play area, after it was officially opened last week by Council representatives.

Maldon District Council Chairman, Mr. Kevin Lagan, accompanied by Mayor of Maldon, Cllr Andrew Lay, officially opened Maldon's newest play area on September 27, unveiling brand new inclusive equipment.

Named 'The Secret Garden', the area hopes to provide an updated play area that can offer families and children of all abilities a place to have fun and make memories.

Similar to Burnham-on-Crouch's new play area, the sensory garden features a swing set, multiple slides, a ramp, seesaw, mini trampoline and more.

The area was built as part of a partnership with KOMPAN, and was part-funded by the Government's UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Maldon's The Valley Play area is also undergoing redevelopment this Autumn by KOMPAN, as the Galleon is replaced by a similar pirate ship and lighthouse structure.
