Man arrested after violent attack on Maldon Road, Essex Police seeking information

A suspect has been arrested in connection with an attack on another man in Maldon early this morning, Essex Police has announced.

In a statement, Essex Police said they were notified of a 'fight' at 5.30am today (9 July) in Maldon Road, Maldon.

A man in his 30s was been taken to hospital after sustaining a head injury. Meanwhile, a 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of Actual Bodily Harm and remains in custody for questioning.

Chief Inspector Steve Scott-Haynes, District Commander, said: "We remain on scene whilst officers carry out inquiries to establish the facts of what happened leading up to the incident.

"We would like to reassure those in the area that there is no wider risk to the community and we would ask anyone who was in the area at the time and may have information that could help our enquiries to contact us and tell us what they know."
