DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses after a man was knocked unconscious during an assault in Maldon.

A statement says: "We are continuing to investigate after a man was punched outside Oakhouse Bar in High Street at around 11.30pm on Saturday 8 August.

"As a result of the assault, he fell and hit his head, briefly losing consciousness. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

"Officers have carried out a number of enquiries and are continuing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

"We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the High Street area at the time, or who has CCTV, dashcam, doorbell or mobile phone footage which may assist our enquiries.
