If you are thinking of popping into the McDonald's in Maldon for a walk-in takeaway - don't.

Like every other McDonald's in the land, the restaurant in Fullbridge Road will not be allowing customers to collect in-store. Instead, the chain will offer drive-through and delivery options for the time being.

The fast food chain has announced that all its 1,300 restaurants across the country have been closed for walk-in takeaways.

While the chain will remain open for drive-through and delivery, customers will no longer be allowed inside stores to place orders, even if they are taking them out, following the announcement of the new national pandemic lockdown.

The company says it has taken the step while it reviews and reassesses safety procedures.
