A new weather warning for sleet, snow and ice across the Maldon district has been issued.

The yellow warning - which indicates a small chance of disruption to travel and power supplies, runs from midnight today (Friday, 8 January) to 11 m tomorrow and is likely to cause slippery surfaces on some roads.

The forecast reads: "Outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow will clear southwards during the early hours of Saturday, but some showers will affect coastal districts. Where skies are clear, icy stretches are likely to form on untreated surfaces."
