Maldon District Council has received a planning application to convert a café in Burnham-on-Crouch into a farm shop.

The 'change of use' application, received by the council on March 18, applies to a section of Mildmay House on Foundry Lane.

The building had previously been used by Crouch Café, which closed in February this year after several years of trading.

The proposed Farm Shop would have two full-time employees and one part-time employee, and is expected to be open from 9 to 5 on weekdays, while closing slightly earlier on weekends.

The application will be considered for support by Burnham-on-Crouch Town Council, before Maldon District Council makes a final decision to approve or refuse.
