A man in his seventies was freed by Essex firefighters after he became trapped in his car following a collision in Purleigh yesterday (April 10).

Fire crews from Maldon and South Woodham Ferrers attended the scene at Hackmans Lane at 9.18am, where a car could be seen in a roadside ditch.
