Police appealing for witnesses following hit-and-run in Burnham High Street

Essex Police has issued an appeal for witnesses following a hit-and-run collision in the High Street, Burnham-On-Crouch, last Saturday (May 13).

A pedestrian was walking on the pavement with friends at around 10.30pm when he was hit from behind by a car. The driver failed to stop at the scene but, fortunately, the man was not seriously injured.

This morning (May 20), police released a statement, saying: "If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.

"Please quote incident 1484 of 13 May.

"You can let us know by submitting a report on our website or by using our online Live Chat service, available Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) between 10am and 9pm.

"Alternatively you can call us on 101. In an emergency, always call 999."

Anyone who wishes to make an anonymous report can do so via the Crimestoppers website, or by calling 0800 555 111.
