Police probe after stolen cars and parts are found in Maldon scrapyard

POLICE have arrested two men and begun an investigation after discovery of a site containing stolen vehicles in Maldon.

The men were held and several stolen vehicles recovered after a car was stolen in Great Bentley.

It was reported a vehicle was taken from an address in Linnet Way shortly after 10.20pm on Friday, 5 January.

Officers were able to track the car to scrapyard in Scraley Road, Maldon.

When they attended they found it and also discovered other vehicles, and parts of vehicles, believed to have been stolen.

Two man from South Woodham Ferrers – aged 28 and 30 – have both been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and are currently in custody.
