Lakeside Kiosk at Maldon Promenade Park has organised an Easter fun day to raise funds for stem cell transplant charity, Anthony Nolan.
The kiosk is holding its 'Easter Fools Fun Day' on April 1 at Maldon Promenade Park.
There will be something for the whole family, with live music, stalls, games, refreshments and a raffle planned.
The kiosk is raising money for the stem cell charity in memory of the husband of a colleague, Terry Abbott, who passed away following blood cancer operation complications.
A representative for the Lakeside Kiosk said: "We will be fundraising in memory of Terry Abbott, husband to our lovely work colleague Donna.
"Terry underwent a Stem Cell transplant in September 2022, the Anthony Nolan charity found him an almost perfect match for the transplant to go ahead.
"Terry sadly passed away aged 60 in April 2023 due to transplant complications later down the line.
"Although the outcome was not what we had hoped for Terry loved to help others and would have wanted to raise awareness to help as many other people with blood cancer."
Terry's daughter Lucy and her fiancé Josh will also be taking part in a 5-day trek to Machu Picchu to help raise money for the charity in September.
All money raised will go directly to the charity enabling them to continue their good work and research in helping others.
Anthony Nolan is the charity that makes lifesaving connections between patients in need and incredible strangers ready to donate their stem cells. It gives families a future by growing the stem cell register, carrying out ground-breaking research to improve survival rates and providing the best post-transplant care for people affected by transplants.
Kirsty Mooney, Head of Supporter Led Fundraising at Anthony Nolan, said: 'Fundraisers like Lakeside Kiosk help raise crucial funds for Anthony Nolan, that help recruit new potential donors to the stem cell register and carry out critical research that can lead to new treatments.
'By undertaking this challenge, Lakeside Kiosk is helping many other patients potentially have a second chance at life.'
