Rebranding for safety partnership

By Nub News Reporter 1st Sep 2025

MALDON District Council has announced the Maldon District Community Safety Partnership has officially rebranded to become the Safer Maldon Partnership.

Established under the 1998 Crime and Disorder Act, the partnership has evolved significantly in both scope and focus. The new name reflects the activities and aims of the partnership today; it now works dynamically and strategically across a broader range of safety and wellbeing initiatives. The Safer Maldon Partnership brings together Maldon District Council, Emergency Services, NHS, Probation Service, and Voluntary Sector to tackle issues that affect the safety and resilience of our communities.

Activities include tackling anti-social behaviour, supporting domestic abuse survivors, promoting fire safety and crime prevention, and coordinating responses to concerns and issues raised by residents.

Speaking about the rebrand, Leader of the Council, Cllr Richard Siddall, said: "The Safer Maldon Partnership is a key part of our strategy to protect and support our communities, and I'm proud of the work we're doing together. We've changed the name so that it reflects what the partnership delivers today. It's not just about crime prevention – it's about making the Maldon District a safer, happier, healthier, supportive, and welcoming place to live, work and visit."

The Safer Maldon Partnership will continue to deliver targeted campaigns, support residents, and coordinate responses to local safety concerns. The rebrand marks a renewed commitment to collaboration and transparency in keeping the District safe.
