Residents' views wanted on police and fire service spending
RESIDENTS have been reminded that the clock is ticking down towards the closure of a survey seeking views on spending more money on the county's police and fire services.
It is possible that the outcome of the survey would influence a decision to increase the precept charged to council taxpayers for the services.
That decision lies with Riger Hurst, the Essex Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner. His office is running the Precept 2024/25 survey.
A statement from the commissioner's office says: "The survey seeks to identify appetites for investing more in Essex Police and Essex Fire and Rescue Service, understanding what you feel would be a reasonable level of additional investment and how you would like to see any extra investment spent."
You can complete the survey here: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/MVKC3H/
The survey will close on Tuesday, 5 December at midnight.
