Serious collision on A132 in South Woodham

Essex Police have been on scene at a serious collision in South Woodham since 4pm, with the road remaining closed at time of writing (9pm, August 13).

The collision took place shortly before 4pm on the A132, Burnham Road.

Two vehicles are involved, with onlookers reporting a lorry and a car involved.

Emergency services remain on scene and the road is currently closed in both directions between Rettendon Turnpike and the KFC roundabout.  

An air ambulance has also been spotted leaving the area.

Police are advising drivers to use alternative routes, with the 'old Woodham road' by Meadow Croft Garden Centre still open.

There is heavy queuing traffic in the area.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or have dashcam footage should contact Essex Police.
