Shortlist for Maldon district's pandemic community service awards has been announced

A SHORTLIST of Maldon district people nominated by the community for what they did to help others in lockdown has been released.
The nominations revealed this afternoon (Monday, 23 November) are for the Maldon District Recognition of Service Awards and showcase amazing work to help and support others through the 2020 crisis in 10 different categories as follows:
• Above & Beyond
• Individual Within a Team• Kindness
• Team Working• Neighbourliness
• Young Person• Fundraising
• Technology• Keeping Active
• Creativity The prestigious awards have been supported by key organisations in the district, including Maldon District Council, Maldon District CVS, Churches Together in Maldon and sponsored by Active Essex, Essex County Fire & Rescue Service, The Salvation Army, Moat Housing, United in Kind, Pipe Media, Maldon & Tiptree FC and Maldon District CVS. From tomorrow, Maldon Nub News will highlight the stories and celebrate the achievements of the nominees in each category, with a new category featured every weekday. The judges are currently making their decisions in each category and the full list of winners will be announced after 12 December by leader of Maldon District Council, Councillor Wendy Stamp.
