The Maldon Festival is set to make a grand return in 2025 and is kicking off with a special event on March 1.

This year's main festival fortnight is promising an unforgettable celebration of music, and culture. Following a brief hiatus last year, the festival is gearing up to delight audiences once again, running from June 27 to July 12, 2025.

To kick off this exciting relaunch, a special event will take place on Saturday, March 1, from 7.30 pm at St Mary's Church in Church Street, Maldon with an evening of classical favourites.

Since its inception in 2008, The Maldon Festival has been a cornerstone of the local arts scene, showcasing an eclectic mix of performances from renowned artists and emerging talents.

The 2025 edition promises a revitalized program, featuring classical concerts, contemporary performances and much more.

"We're thrilled to revitalise The Maldon Festival," said James Burrell-Cook, Chair of Trustees.

"This year's relaunch not only celebrates the resilience and creativity of our community but also sets the stage for a vibrant and inclusive Festival that will be bigger and better than ever."

The last festival event in Summer 2023 adopted a 'Coronation Celebration' theme and featured contemporary artwork and historical music. While not only allowing residents unrivalled access to the arts on their doorstep, the event offered a Junior Programme, which included a concert for young musicians, children's workshops and a work experience programme.

After a year break, the Festival Committee are looking forward to coming back with a bang.

The March 1 event will serve as a vital platform to ensure the Festival's success, with sponsors enjoying an evening of entertainment featuring Beethoven's Spring Sonata, Noel Coward and more. Attendees can look forward to performances featuring former festival director, Colin Baldy, with James Davey on St Mary's organ, Megan Hill on violin and James House on piano.

Mark your calendars and join in on celebrating the arts in Maldon! For more information about the festival or to get involved as a sponsor, volunteer, or performer, visit www.maldonfestival.co.uk or follow along on social media.

Tickets go on sale on February 15 online and from Maldon Books, 21-23 High Street, Maldon, CM9 5PE. Prices are £12.00 for adults with concessions priced at £8.00. Under 18's go free.
