The Maldon Grinch goes 'even greener' with Maldon District Council and helps local foodbanks this Christmas
The Maldon Grinch was spotted at Tesco last weekend, helping to promote Maldon District Council's 'Climate Action strategy' while also supporting local foodbanks.
The festive thief was joined by Councillor Penny Channer, Leader of the Council; Claire Williamson, Climate Action Officer; and Rhiain Oakley, Tesco Community Champion. They helped him fill his trolley with lots of eco-friendly products which were then donated to Maldon Food Pantry.
Cllr Channer said: "I totally appreciate the challenging times we currently all face.
"However, we can all try to do our bit in supporting Climate Change as part of the 'Our Home, Our Future' Climate Action strategy, and continue to care for our environment."
The foodbank at Elim Church, Wantz Road, will close this Wednesday (December 21). However, donations can also be taken to other foodbanks in the district.
Cllr Channer added: "I am delighted that the Maldon Grinch has given some of his time to show that going green is easy."
