The Maldon Society is looking for a volunteer to take over the role of secretary.

The local heritage group has been part of the Maldon community for the past 64 years.

A spokesperson for The Maldon Society said: "There is the opportunity to join a good working team of people. The society aims to promote and protect Maldon's heritage and culture.

"Every help will be given by the chairman and others to anyone who takes on the role."

The group holds 10 committee meetings a year and the only essential skill needed is basic use of a computer for emails and drafting agendas and minutes.
