Here are our top event picks for the coming days:

1. Model village candlelight evening at the Museum of Power

You can enjoy a magical evening at the Museum of Power's model village this Friday (8 October), which will include over 400 lanterns alongside fairies and elves.

Entry to the village and museum, on Hatfield Road in Langford, will be free between 6pm and 8pm.

The tea room will also be open for food and refreshments.

Find out more here.

2. EACH masquerade charity ball

Head down to the Five Lakes resort in Tolleshunt Knights this Saturday (9 October) to enjoy a masquerade ball while supporting a fantastic charity.

All money raised through the event will go towards East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH), which supports children and young people with life-threatening illnesses and their families.

Tickets cost £55 per person, and include a three-course dinner and live entertainment.

The Five Lakes Resort can be found on Colchester Road in Tolleshunt Knights.

3. Maldon Fiver Fest

Support your local independents while taking advantage of some exclusive bargains this weekend, as Fiver Fest begins from Saturday (9 October).

Maldon businesses will be offering £5 deals to customers during the campaign, which will last until Saturday 23 October.

The campaign aims to highlight the importance of the High Street, and is returning to Maldon following its success last October and, more recently, in June.

To find out more about the exclusive deals that will be on offer, you can visit Around Maldon's website here.

And you can get more details on the campaign here.
