From a display of classic military vehicles to a pop-punk party, we have put together a round-up of unmissable events happening in Maldon this weekend.

FRIDAY: Join the town mayor for a charity quiz night

Raise money for charity while putting your knowledge to the test this Friday (4 February) at town mayor David Ogg's quiz night.

Residents are invited to enter in teams of six, and will be able to enjoy fish and chips while participating.

The money raised will help fund Councillor Ogg's two chosen charities for his mayoral year - The Sea-Change Sailing Trust and Churches Together.

The evening will start at 7.30pm at Maldon Town Hall on Market Hill.

SATURDAY: Enjoy the best pop-punk hits of the 90s and 00s

It's Not A Phase, Mum! will be performing all the hit pop-punk and metal anthems of the nineties and noughties this Saturday (5 February) at the Sunny Sailor in Maldon.

The group will perform songs from bands including Greenday, Sum 41, Paramore, Blink-182, Linkin Park and Fall Out Boy.

Head down to the pub, at 1 Fullbridge, from 8pm to enjoy the show.

SUNDAY: See a range of classic military vehicles at the Prom

The Essex Historic Military Vehicle Association (HMVA) is holding its first show of the year this Sunday (6 February) at Promenade Park in Maldon.

There will be a range of classic military vehicles on show from 10.30am to 3pm.

You can even see your own military vehicle on display by entering it into the show between 10.30am and 12pm.

Entry is via the main Prom entrance and participants will be directed to the display from there.

SUNDAY: Spend the day at Maldon's secret garden

Maldon's secret garden - also known as the Friary Walled Garden - will be open to visitors this Sunday between 10am and 3pm.

This month, the crocus, snowdrops, primroses, violets, aconites and viburnum are in flower in the garden - with other spring blooms soon to follow.

The historic garden on White Horse Lane only opens on the first Sunday of each month and entry is free, so don't miss out.
