A yellow heat health alert has been issued by the UK Health Security Agency for 4 out of 9 regions in the UK.

The alert starts tomorrow evening (5 pm, July 18), lasting until 11 pm on July 20, and covers the East Midlands, the East of England, the South East and London.

It has been issued in response to expected warmer weather across the UK, with Maldon expected to hit highs of 29 degrees on Friday (July 19).

The yellow label indicates "probable minor impacts" across the health and social care sector, including an increased use of health services by the vulnerable, and increased risk of mortality amongst vulnerable individuals, with increased potential for indoor environments to become very warm.

Other areas of the UK, such as the South West, have received green warnings - meaning there is "potential for minor impacts".
