IT'S been another seven days of big news stories in Maldon – with the local elections dominating the headlines at the end of the week. Maldon Nub News was present at the Maldon count from when the first ballot boxes arrived until the results were declared and so there are a few separate stories here, written and published as the results were announced.

THE organisers of Burnham Week have announced that they have opened entries for the event's return in 2021.

Burnham Week 2021 will run from 28 August to 4 September.

THERE'S an opportunity for small businesses to sign up to free training in social media, e-commerce and website management - and all completely free.

Maldon District Council (MDC) is offering free one-to-one training and support to small businesses across the district, from Maldon to Burnham-on-Crouch and in-between.

TOMORROW (Thursday, 6 May) is polling day in this year's local elections – with more taking place at once than usual because of the delay caused last year by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Essex County Council elections will see three seats across the Maldon district being contested. These are Maldon, Heybridge & Tollesbury and Southminster.
