A second half recovery earned Swifts a share of the Isthmian North points at league newcomers New Salamis in haringey this afternoon (Saturday, 1 October).

Derek Asamoah fired the hosts ahead on ten minutes and just five minutes later Taufee Skandari struck to leave Swifts rocking against last season's winners of the Spartan South Midlands League who have made a decent start to their step four life.

Swifts held on until half time and picked up in the second half when they were much better. Kieran Jones grabbed a goal back on 55 minutes, his first in swifts colours, and ten minutes later Sam Carter restored parity following a Ben Sartin corner.

By the end it was Swifts who looked more likely to get a winner in front of a crowd of just 98, but it wasn't to be.

Heybridge are next in action on Saturday, 8 October when they travel to Isthmian Premier high-fliers Potters Bar Town in the third qualifying round.

The scheuled league match for that date, home to AFC Sudbury, has been rearranged for Tuesday, 15 November.
