Bury Town 1, Heybridge Swifts 0

Bury Town ended a three game winless run with the defeat of Swifts at Ram Meadow on Tuesday, 20 December - but they will hope to bounce back with a Boxing Day deby win.

Tuesday's hosts have the best defence in Pitching In Isthmian North so far this season, with only 11goals conceded- and that remained the same at full time.

The winning goal arrived 14 minutes from time, and it went to Lewis O'Malley, the Blues' number five heading home a corner.

Swifts, who had scored almost twice as many league goals as their hosts, couldn't manage one of their own- and have now gone four league matches without a win, their worst run of the campaign.

Swifts are back in action on Boxing Day, hosting local rivals Maldon & Tiptree and their new manager Peter Taylor.
