Maldon In Bloom will hold a quiz night at the Town Hall to raise funds for local projects, on Saturday 23 September at 7.30pm.

All proceeds will go to create "beautiful planted areas" around Maldon. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the group's work throughout the town.

Chairperson Councillor Flo Shaughnessy told Nub News: "In recent years, we have developed Reeve's Corner, the raised beds at St Giles, Leech Memorial Garden, wildflower areas and planters all around the town."

Tickets cost £5 each, and teams of up to six people are welcome. Quizmaster Mark Heard will lead the event, in which there will also be a raffle held.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own drinks and nibbles. To purchase tickets, get in touch with Maldon Town Council.

The prize for the winning team is six bottles of wine.
