Maldon Books is pleased to welcome chef, food writer, and stylist Sophie Godwin to Maldon this October, for a special demonstration and discussion at Ginny's Cocktail Lounge.

Sophie will be joining us for an evening of food and drinks in celebration of Sophie's first published cookbook, Sundays: A Cookbook.

'Sundays: A Cookbook' is full of laid-back food that's absolutely packed with flavour. Sundays are special. Yes, sometimes we might feel like we're slowly dying because of the night before, yet even then, there's joy to be had in the ravenous hunger, copious carbs, and the legitimacy of binge-watching a TV show, especially if the weather is dreary.

About Sophie Godwin

Sophie Godwin has been a chef and recipe writer for more than ten years, writing recipes and features and styling cover stars for the UK's top food magazines including BBC Good Food, olive and Sainsbury's. She has created and contributed the recipes for four bestselling cookbooks for online sensation MOB, run the kitchens at sustainable food project Omved Gardens, and works regularly as a private chef. She has also hosted cookery demonstrations, workshops and online video tutorials, and is known for her easy-to-follow, veg-centric recipes packed full of bold flavour.

About the event

We'll be hosting this event at Ginny's Cocktail Lounge in Maldon. You'll get a glass of prosecco on arrival, and Sophie will be demonstrating a recipe for you to try whilst discussing her work and recipes from the book. You'll also have the opportunity to purchase a copy of Sundays: A Cookbook after the event. Ginny's Cocktail Lounge is an independent cocktail bar, with a whole host of delicious cocktails for you to try, with many alcohol-free options, wine, beers and soft drinks available too. Tickets are £5 and can be purchased directly in the shop or online through Eventbrite.
