Join the Walk for Life, a charity fundraising event, this Sunday (May 14) in aid of Farleigh Hospice.

This family friendly event is suitable for keen walkers of all ages and abilities - and doggy friends are also welcome! Each child will receive a progress card which can be completed along the walk.

Everyone taking part will receive a Farleigh t-shirt to wear during the walk and a medal when they finish.

Choose between two scenic routes, taking in the peaceful towpaths of the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation:

• 12km - a ramble from Paper Mill Lock
• 24km - a more demanding route from Heybridge Basin

Six colleagues from kitchen supplier Howdens in Maldon will take on the challenge, hiking 24 kilometres (14.9 miles) from Heybridge Basin to Chelmsford. Between them, the 'Howdens Hikers' hope to raise £1,000 for charity.
