A FOOD support survey is being carried out across Maldon district to find out how best to help those with ongoing needs following the Covid-19 pandemic.

The 'food consultation' is being delivered by a range of organisations including MDCVS (Maldon and District Community Voluntary Service), Maldon town and district councils, Churches Together in Maldon and the district's existing food support providers.

Director of MDCVS, Sarah Troop, said: From our experience of providing support throughout the pandemic we have, as a partnership, become aware that some of our residents will need ongoing support, potentially due to changes in circumstances as a result of the pandemic.

"We want to ensure that the support in the Maldon district is the best it can be and to do this we need to hear from those individuals who have used or are using existing services."

The survey contains questions about why support is needed, how easy it is to access  - including locations and opening times which may be vital for a rural district like Maldon. The partnership also wants to hear what could be better or done differently."

And there's a chance for those who want to help take new ideas, such as food banks, pantries or other schemes, forward by leaving their contact details when they answer the survey if they wish to.

Sarah explained: "Responses are anonymous, but there is a an opportunity to provide contact details for people who are interested in taking ideas forward once we have looked at the feedback we are given."

The food survey is running until 18 June and is available by using the link here. Alternatively, call 01621 851997 for more information or to request paper copies.
