Maldon's Plume Academy celebrated 'fantastic' A-level results received by its students yesterday (August 18), despite enduring severe disruption during the pandemic.

Carl Wakefield, Executive Principal of Plume Academy, said: "I am exceptionally proud of the results achieved by our college students this year, particularly given the massively disruptive period they had to work through and the unrelenting resilience they had to show.

Year 13's A-level results showed a 'virtually perfect' overall A*-E pass rate, including 19 A*s. Of the 21 A-level subjects currently offered, only three did not achieve a 100% pass rate. In all seven non-A Level post-16 subjects, the pass rate was 100%.

In a statement, the Academy said its 'superb' results "very much reflect the hard work and tremendous commitment shown by our students and staff over the course of the past two years".

Year 12's AS level results gave a similarly positive picture, with a 'near-perfect' A-E pass rate and an 'excellent' A-C pass rate.

Mr Wakefield continued: "I am also extremely pleased that virtually all of our Year 13 students have secured their first choice university place, with a number also securing high quality apprenticeships at reputable organisations both locally as well as in the city of London."

The Principal told Nub News: "The fantastic results are especially pleasing for our Year 13s, who started on the same day as me way back in September 2015".
