Remedial road works in Heybridge have begun today (July 31) and are expected to last until August 13, limiting access and parking.

TriConnex Limited will be undertaking works on Maypole Road, Langford Road and Holloway Road.

The works will require open excavations which will be "appropriately guarded off at all times", resulting in a temporary road closure for the duration.

In a letter to residents, Dan Rochester, Senior Operations Manager at TriConnex, said: "Whilst we are committed to minimising the impact of works to residents, there will be some degree of disruption, so please allow extra time for any journeys you may make while the works are in progress."

The road closure will begin outside Number 161, Holloway Road, to the junction with Langford Road roundabout. From the Maypole Road roundabout, the closure will reach the site entrance of the Westcombe Park development.

Signage is present to guide pedestrians and vehicles around the works.

"All works undertaken are compliant with current regulations, legislation, and approved codes of practice," Mr Rochester added.

TriConnex Limited has assured access will be kept to properties "as much as possible", particularly overnight. However, residents have been asked to find alternative parking while works are carried out.

Last summer, the three major Heybridge roads were disrupted for six weeks.
