Essex Police is appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist was killed in a collision in Tiptree on Thursday (October 5).

Police were called to reports of a collision in Station Road at around 10.20pm, involving a motorcycle and a stationary HGV that was parked near the junction with Francis Close.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the motorcyclist - a man in his sixties - sadly died at the scene.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: "If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.

"You can let us know by emailing the Serious Collision Investigation Unit. Alternatively, you can call us on 101.

"Please quote incident 1392 of 5 October when providing any information to make sure it gets to the right person as quickly as possible."

The road was closed while police carried out investigative enquiries.
