IN PICTURES: Burnham Carnival returns for an illuminated spectacular

By Ben Shahrabi 5th Oct 2023

Burnham On Crouch celebrated its annual carnival last Saturday (September 30), complete with its iconic illuminated procession.

Families came from all over Essex to join in with the festivities, overcoming railway strikes and a limited bus service to get there.

Carnival Committee member Lorna Hart, Landlady at the Victoria Inn, told Nub News: "It was one of the best carnivals for many years. That's thanks to the sponsors and the generosity of the local people."

Donations are still being counted and the total amount should be announced before the Burnham Festive Fayre on December 2. There will be a presentation of cheques from money raised at this year's carnival at the event.
