Maldon's former police station building is set to become offices for an accountancy firm, following a series of applications from Pocknells.
Plans to turn the former police station into offices were welcomed by councillors in March, more than four years after the building became vacant.
Pocknells, a firm based in South Woodham Ferrers, has taken over the 581-square metre building.
The cells are set to be converted into offices, with six in total, plus a board room and two meeting rooms.
Pocknells' most recent application is for an illuminated sign featuring the company logo to be put on the front of the building.
A 'Mercia Lantern' bearing the logo will also hang by the front door. This is a replica of the Victorian Police Lantern which first appeared in London in the late 1800's.

In January, resident Olivia Emmott "vehemently" supported the application, saying it would "bring life back into a valued building".
She said: "I believe that the police station property is such an important part of the High Street, standing at the entry of the road - at the moment, looking very dilapidated.
"It will allow for local businesses to find a home on the High Street and within this community.
"I'm very much looking forward to this building being brought back to life and improving the aesthetic of the high street."
A previous bid to convert the building into five self-contained apartments was refused in October 2020, for reasons including the loss of employment space and a community facility.
