MALDON District Council has been shortlisted for the prestigious Essex Housing Awards 2025, in the category of 'Meeting Housing Need – Homelessness'.

The awards celebrate excellence in housing development, services, and innovation across the county and recognise organisations and projects that are making a difference to communities by delivering high-quality, sustainable housing and support services.

Maldon District Council's nomination follows the successful refurbishment and occupation of emergency accommodation facilities within the district.

Cllr Richard Siddall, Leader of Maldon District Council, said: "Being shortlisted for this award is a real testament to the hard work and commitment of our officers. Tackling homelessness is a top priority for us. This project shows what we can achieve when we focus on practical solutions that deliver real results for people in need."

The winners of the awards will be announced at a ceremony on Thursday, 16 October.
