The Maldon Mud Race to host exciting Afternoon Tea at Promenade Park this May.

The event will be held on Saturday May 3, from 1 pm to 4 pm, in association with Rodda's Clotted Cream and Wilkin & Sons / Tiptree Jams.

Brian Farrington, Chairman of Maldon Mud Race said, "We will offer a picnic-style event with some corporate/marquee tables available and all pre-booked online, with profits to Maldon Mud Race charities.

"We are excited to be supported by big names such as Tiptree Jam and Roddas Clotted Cream are donating all the clotted cream as part of their Good Deeds community support project.

"We hope to host over 1,000 lovers of traditional Afternoon Tea ahead of the Maldon Mud Race the following day."

Visitors are invited to pre-book an Afternoon Tea Box, which will come with Tiptree Jam and Rodda's Clotted Cream, or a Tipsy Tea with 125 ml glass of Prosecco.

There will also be live music from the soul legend Irie Jay, and stylish photo opportunities including balloon arches, flower walls, and large deck chairs.

Brian continued, "We know families and businesses across Essex will support us and Maldon Promenade Park is such a beautiful venue.

"The Maldon Mud Race costs a huge amount to deliver safely with costs such as medical crew, water safety, showers, thermal blankets, security and more.

"Without our sponsors we couldn't deliver this in-credible spectacle and anything we can raise on Saturday 3rd May will help us have more to distribute to charities in November 2025."

There will also be a competition to win a table on the Tiptree bus for four guests, with more information coming out soon on the Maldon Mud Race social media.
