A graphic designer and illustrator from Maldon has recently opened a shop and studio in the town - and says she's excited to soon offer art classes.

Suzanne Smith, owner of print, homeware and lifestyle brand Suzi M, launched the new shop at 16A Maldon High Street mid April.

The stunning shop acts as both a retail unit and personal art studio, with space out the back for classes.

Having moved in alongside The Gallery Maldon, Suzanne hopes the addition of her shop will create a "nice arty area" in the town.

"Since opening, the shop has been really well received," Suzanne said.

"Everyone that has come in has loved the shop and have bought stuff, and there are people coming back to buy some art.

"The response has made me so very happy."

Suzanne launched her business less than four years ago. After getting 'runner-up' in a competition for women in business, she launched Suzi M as an exclusive pop-up shop in department store Fenwick.

She later moved the business to a shop on the Hylands Estate in Chelmsford, before looking to move closer to home,

Using a mix of hand illustration and digital techniques, Suzanne's bold and colourful artwork has allowed her to produce not only stunning prints, but high-quality lifestyle products, homeware and gifts too.

Suzanne will soon be offering illustration classes from the shop, sharing her skills with those of all abilities.

If you're interested, you can contact Suzanne at: 07767 790423 or visit the Suzi M website.

The shop is open Tuesdays from 2pm to 7pm, as well as Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 11am to 4pm, closing slightly earlier on Sundays.
