Maldon and Tiptree firefighters free trapped driver following Tolleshunt D’Arcy collision

A driver was freed from their car and taken to Broomfield Hospital following a two-vehicle collision in Maldon Road, Tolleshunt D'Arcy, last weekend. 

Emergency crews were called to the scene on Friday (October 13), "working seamlessly" to ensure the injured driver's safety and comfort. 

A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance service told Nub News: "We sent the Hazardous Area Response Team and an ambulance. One person was taken to Broomfield Hospital for further care." 

Firefighters from Maldon and Tiptree helped free the trapped driver. 

A spokesperson for Maldon Fire Station said: "After stabilising the vehicle, firefighters assisted paramedics to carefully extricate the casualty before handing them over to the care of the ambulance service."

Essex Police also attended, along with the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance. 

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We were called to reports of a collision in Maldon Road, Tolleshunt D'Arcy, at about 4.40pm. 

"At the scene we found two cars had collided and one driver had sustained injuries. 

"We worked with emergency service colleagues at the scene, and the cars were both recovered by about 9pm."
