Maldon District: Steeple road closure begins today - running until Saturday

Foxhall Road in Steeple is closed for road works from today (September 21) until Saturday, Essex Highways has announced.

Essex Highways says the three-day closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while workers undertake "Carriageway Patching".

'Patching' takes place to repair the road surface. It involves removing a part of the surface around a pothole and placing a new patch of road surface.

A 16-minute diversion route will be in place for road users:

  • Continue on Southminster Road
  • Turn left towards Tillingham Road/B1021
  • Turn slight right towards Southminster Road
  • Continue on South Street
  • Turn slight right towards Bradwell Road
  • Continue on Bradwell Road
  • Continue on Mill End
  • Turn left towards Maldon Road
  • Continue on Bradwell Road
  • Continue on The Street
  • Turn slight left towards Maldon Road
  • Turn slight left towards Steeple Road
  • Turn sharp left towards Grange Avenue
  • Continue on Green Lane
