Maldon's popular weekly market is set to return to Butt Lane Car Park on October 12, and a full list of vendors has been revealed.

The much-loved market stopped when long-serving market operator Terry Frost retired after 43 years. It is now set to reopen with a new operator and looks to be 'jam-packed', featuring everything from local farm produce to home-made accessories and interior décor.

New market operator Alex Paul said: "Suffolk Market Events is delighted to be working with Maldon District Council to relaunch the town centre's weekly market at Butt Lane. We are aware that a successful and popular town market can add real vibrancy to a town centre, and we look forward to working with all the local partners in Maldon to achieve this".

The market will open every Thursday from 9am to 1pm, in its usual spot in Butt Lane Car Park behind the High Street.

Councillor Richard Siddall, Leader of Maldon District Council, said: "I know the revitalised market will be a great success.

"I'm sure residents and visitors to the town will welcome the opportunity to shop there."
