Maldon Mud Race and Tesco raise local smiles with delivery of Christmas care packages
Maldon Mud Race have supported the delivery of a number of care hampers to homes in and around the District this Christmas.
Continuing the distribution of funds raised in 2024, The Maldon Mud Race helped to support local Maldon Charity, FANs (Friends and Neighbours), alongside Tesco Community Champion, Rhiain Oakley.
The FaNs Network forms part of the My Home Life Community Association Charity, which aims to help older people stay connected to and involved with their local community.
The charity begun the distribution of care hampers in and around the district Christmas week with deliveries to many care homes around the district including Hailey House in Maldon, Wickham House in Braintree, and Hatfield Peveril Lodge.
Tesco Community Champion Rhiain Oakley said: "We are so happy to have received a donation from the Maldon Mud Race which has enabled us to increase the amount of care homes and local groups we support.
"The teams were delighted to see us and receive the gorgeous hampers which will make the Christmas period much more jolly.
"It's been a tough year for many people this year and the hampers play a small part and helping with a few extra necessities as well as a few lovely luxury treats."
