A development company has invited residents to view plans for a 275-home development near Maldon Cemetery, next Wednesday (July 12) at West Maldon Community Centre.

The public exhibition will be held at the Community Centre in Sunbury Way, Maldon, from 2pm until 8pm.

LSL Partners is proposing to build a new neighbourhood called 'Maldon Woods' on the outskirts of town. The development is set to include approximately 275 "high quality and low carbon" homes.

Residents have already raised concerns about the plans due to the proximity of the estate to Maldon Cemetery, and about how the new homes will affect traffic in the town. The development company says plans to provide upgrades to the existing transport infrastructure and deliver "supporting amenities".

Daniel Cavanagh, a representative for LSL Partners, says the company was established "with the aim of helping build homes and communities that people want to live in".

"They need to be planned, designed and delivered with quality and sustainability as central guiding principles, ensuring that high environmental and living standards are achieved," he said.

Those who are unable to attend the exhibition in-person can provide their feedback via the Maldon Woods website.
