A family which was left homeless following a house fire in Larch Walk, Heybridge, last Tuesday (July 4) is seeking help to find their beloved dog.

Jillian and Mark Hedgecock were on holiday when the devastating blaze ravaged their house. Their son, Sam, was also away from home at the time.

While the family's cat has been found and safely reunited with them, their dog Nibs has not been seen since Tuesday. She is a German Shepherd.

Now back in the UK and currently staying with friends, Jill and Mark wish to pass on their gratitude to those who have reached out to offer support.

Debbie Hill, a family friend, has set up a GoFundMe page to raise money to help the Hedgecocks rebuild their lives after an extremely traumatic week.

"Mark, Jill and Sam have not only lived in Larch Walk for many years but have also been members of Heybridge Swifts Football Club forever," Debbie says.

"They are very much-loved members of our neighbourhood and our football family."

Meanwhile, Jill has asked for clothing items in a size 4xl for men and clothes in a ladies' size 16.

Anybody with information which may help to reunite Nibs with her family should get in touch with Nub News. Those wishing to donate to the Hedgecock family's fundraiser can do so via their GoFundMe page.
