Hospitality group Loungers PLC is preparing to open a new all-day dining venue called 'Salero Lounge' in Maldon High Street next month.

Salero Lounge would be open all day, every day for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and drinks. It will offer full children's, gluten-free and vegan menus.

Gemma Irwin, Community Manager at Loungers, told Nub News: "We're so looking forward to opening the doors of Salero Lounge in September. We hope our family friendly environment and top-notch food and drink offering will prove popular with local residents."

The Loungers build and design team aims to transform a disused Victorian building at 43-45 High Street, in their "unmistakable and unique" style.

Constructed in 1860, the Grade II listed building near to Maldon's historic Moot Hall was used as a Post Office for many years. More recently, it was home to one of Morrisons' now-defunct convenience stores, My Local.

Described as "a real home from home", Salero Lounge is set to cater for all tastes throughout the day with a varied all-day menu. Particular attention will be paid to families, with a selection of games, books, colouring pencils, and pads on offer. A full menu, highchairs and baby-changing facilities will also be available for "Little Loungers".

The venue hopes to welcome locals looking for a space for regular meetings and events. That may range from business networking, book or knitting clubs, to parent and baby meets and life drawing classes.

"We're passionate about integrating genuinely into the communities we serve so we're looking forward to meeting everyone and to playing our part at the heart of Maldon's food and drink scene," Gemma added.

"Anyone looking for a space to host events or groups should pop in once we're open. We'd love to hear from them and see what we can do to help."

Salero Lounge is planned to officially open on Wednesday 27 September. It would be the 201st Lounge opened by the group.

There is a range of jobs on offer in both back- and front-of-house roles at Salero Lounge. For more information, visit the Lounges website.
